It was very emotional watching both Whitney's Mother Cissy Houston and Whitney's Daughter Bobbi Kristina in the front row having to say goodbye to their daughter and mother.

Yesterday on February 11th, Singer, Actress, Mother, ICON Whitney Houston was found dead in her Beverly Hilton Hotel room. Houston was found in a bathtub where she according to sources had drowned. Several prescription drugs were found in Ms. Houston's room however her cause of death has not yet been revealed. Although her autopsy report was completed today the details will remain private until toxicology reports are in.

Earlier today, Whitney Houston's daughter with ex-husband Bobby Brown, Bobbi Kristina was rushed to the hospital for anxiety and stress. Hours after arriving to her mother's hotel yesterday, a devastated and upset Bobbi Kristina was not allowed in her mother's room to see her body nor was Houston's cousin Dionne Warwick.

Heaven has gained another great voice. Whitney Houston should be remembered for her mark as a Music Icon and amazing voice. The history she made with music. She paved the way for several female artist in today's industry and had a stellar career.

Today Marks The 1st Day Of Black History Month Of 2012! To Find Disturbing News That Soul Train Creator Don Cornelius Has Died At The Age Of 75 of an apparent suicide. Don Cornelius was found at 4 AM today with a gunshot to the head which was said to be self inflicted.

Don Cornelius had a vision to have a black version of the television show American Bandstand. As to which he created Soul Train which Highlights Black Artist from the likes of James Brown, Marvin Gaye, Aretha Franklin, and Michael Jackson. Soul Train was the longest show airing on Television from 1971-2008.

Dwight "Heavy D" Arrington Myers born on May 24, 1967, in Mandeville, Jamaica, and grew up largely in Mount Vernon, N.Y. died Nov. 8 at age 44 after collapsing outside his Beverly Hills condo.

Heavy D, broke into the music industry with Living Large, his first record with the Boyz, in 1987. The first act signed to Andre Harrell and his label "Uptown Records", Hev paved the way for many artist, including introducing New Jack Swing. He went on to even greater success with the hit "Now That We Found Love" in 1991, and recorded theme songs for the television series In Living Color. Heavy D & the Boyz became key figures in the softening of hip-hop’s sharp edges. The group released five albums between 1987 and 1994, three of which went platinum: “Big Tyme” (1989) “Peaceful Journey” (1991) and “Nuttin’ but Love” (1994).

Heavy D was one of hip-hop’s most popular and charismatic figures. His sound of blending hip-hop and R&B was a hip hop soulful. Hev's outsized personality, set the template for plus-size in hip-hop. By 1991, the world were grooving and rocking to love songs like “Is It Good to You” and his group’s biggest hit, “Now That We Found Love,”. “Peaceful Journey,” the 1991 Heavy D & the Boyz album, was dedicated to Trouble T-Roy, one of the Boyz, who died from a fall while the group was on tour in 1990. Mr. Dixon’s death also inspired Pete Rock & CL Smooth’s “They Reminisce Over You (T.R.O.Y.),” one of hip-hop’s essential tribute songs. In the mid-1990s he became the president of Uptown Records and continued to influence others both in and out of the music industry.

He recorded hit songs with both Michael Jackson (“Jam” in 1991) and Janet Jackson (“Alright” in 1990); and had a hilarious cameo in the video for “One More Chance,” an early hit for the Notorious B.I.G., who followed in Heavy D’s footsteps.

Heavy D continued to record music — including a reggae-influenced album Vibes, and his recent work Love Opus. He recently performed this year for the BET Awards and also in October for the Michael Jackson Tribute Concert. He was also known in recent years for his acting work. He had recurring roles on TV shows including “Roc,” “The Tracy Morgan Show” and “Boston Public,” and parts in films including “The Cider House Rules” and the current “Tower Heist.”

Survivors include his daughter, Xea.

Hev leaves a great legacy and catalog of accomplishments and offered shared encouraging words.

Heavy D was laid to rest November 18, 2011 where several of celebrity friends such as Andre Harrell, Puffy, Queen Latifah, Jay Z, Will and Jada Smith, Usher, Samuel L. Jackson, Russell Simmons, Anthony Hamilton, Johnny Gill, Yolanda Adams, and a host of plenty more were in attendance to Celebrate his Homegoing.

Luke Running For Mayor

Miami, rap legend Luke Campbell has officially announced he will run for Mayor of Miami, pitting him against County Commissioner Carloz Gimenez, Hialeah Mayor Julio Robaina, former State Legislator Marcelo Llorente and others.

The news of Luke's candidacy comes as the city of Miami prepares for a recall election sitting Mayor Carlos Alvarez.

Luke said that his experience running nightclubs and his ground breaking record label Luke Records has given him the business experience needed to run the city.
The mogul said that he was up to the task of balancing the county budget.

Luke has also offered up an interesting new form of taxation to help generate revenue for the city of Miami, by taxing strippers, who have the potential to earn thousands each day, tax free.

"Even though all my stripper friends are gonna be mad at me, I think we can stimulate the economy with a tax on strippers," Luke continued. "They make all this money and don't pay taxes. I'd take that cash and put it into a fund where it supports youth athletics for girls like cheerleading or softball. Or it can go to help pay for existing little girls programs that are struggling to get government assistance."

This will be interesting.

Funkmaster Flex Arrested

Funkmaster Flex was arrested earlier today in New York after a woman reported to police that the HOT 97 DJ shoved her, attempted to break her cell phone and also allegedly threatened her.

Police said that a 40-year-old woman told them that Flex assaulted her, but was gone by the time they arrived at a residence in Westchester, New York this morning.

TMZ reported Flex was charged with harassment, aggravated harassment and criminal mischief.

The DJ has been released on $500 bail, must stay away from the unnamed woman and has a court date pending.

Eminem To Be Featured In Ad During Super Bowl

Hip-Hop music continues to be the dominated genre of music for the NFL's Super Bowl XLV this year.

Rapper Eminem will make a high profile appearance during an advertisement for Lipton Brisk ice tea during Super Bowl XLV.

The rapper will star as an animated claymation figure in the humorous, $1 million dollar spot, which will show viewers what a day in his life is like.

At halftime, rap group The Black Eyed Peas will entertain the 105,000 of people who will attend Super Bowl XLV in Dallas, Texas.

Superbowl XLV takes place on February 6th, when the Pittsburgh Steelers take on The Green Bay Packers.

Another year of a billion viewers are expected to watch the game across the world.

MTV To Air Documentary On Bronx Rapper Cory Gunz

MTV has announced it will air a six-part documentary produced by Nick Cannon titled "Son of A Gun," which will chronicle the journey of Bronx, New York rapper Cory Gunz.

"Son of A Gun" will follow Cory Gunz as he navigates through the music industry, with the help of his managers Nick Cannon and Cory's father/co-manager/Peter Gunz.

Cory Gunz is 23-years-old, the budding rapper has already had four record deals (Casablanca, Def Jam, After Platinum), including his latest, with Lil Wayne's Young Money imprint.

Cory Gunz landed on "6'7," the first single Lil Wayne dropped when he finished his prison sentence in November of 2010.

"Son of A Gun" will air on MTV Thursday, April 28th at 11:00 PM.

50 Cent is claiming responsibility for having the domain name WorldStarHipHop.com seized. In 2009, 50 was involved in a dispute with WorldStar, after he filed a copyright infringement suit against the site, which directly competes with his own site, ThisIs50, and a number of other Hip Hop sites and blogs. During a 2009 interview with Atlanta’s DJ Greg Street, 50 said “I got a lawsuit against WorldStar for utilizing my likeness. A lot of people thought that was my site because they saw my face on the cover of an infringement with iRobot for a long time. They should really be nice to me, because I have lawyers and retainers. I pay them so much anyway that we’ll just go back and forth in court until you can’t afford a Subway sandwich.”
